PROJECTS
A. LINKED-MEPI-MNCH PROJECT- DEPARTMENT OF PAEDIATRICS&CHILD HEALTH
1. PROGRAM COORDINATOR, –AC/5/244/11-1 POST-(CHS)
Applicants must be holders of Masters Degree in Medicine (Pediatrics or Obstetrics& Gynaecology) from a recognized university and
be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists’ Board. Previous experience working in a peripheral hospital in the
Ministry of Health will be an added advantage.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the successful candidate will be expected to coordinate training activities at the college of
Health Sciences and research at peripheral hospital sites. He/she will be expected to interact with local health management teams and
liaise with Ministry of Health officials for training and research activities.
Please note that the appointment is on a one year contract term renewable on mutual agreement.
2. ADMINISTRATOR, –AC/5/245/11-1 POST-(CHS)
Applicants must have a Degree in Administration or other management related field and at least one (1) year’s experience in
administration. They must have skills and knowledge ion Administration, Office Operations, ICT, Programme Administration,
Financial and Personnel Management.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain records of personnel, facilities, supplies and equipment, order supplies and liaise
with suppliers, keep inventories of facilities, supplies and equipment, coordinate transport, meetings and training sessions and
employee welfare and safety.

3. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT-AD/5/246/11- 1 POST-(CHS)
Applicants should be holders of at least CPA II with at least three (3) years accounting or auditing experience. Those who have
University’s accounting procedures and experience in handling US Government funded grants will have an advantage.
Duties will include maintenance of accounting systems, preparation of budgets and preparation of accounts for audits.
Please note that the appointment is on a one year contract term renewable on mutual agreement.
4. DATA CLERK-AD/5/247/11- 2 POSTS-(CHS)
Applicants should be holders of a KCSE C+ and a Diploma in Statistics or related field. They should have at least one (1) year’s work
experience in data entry and have working knowledge of SPSS and MS Access. Previous experience in a research setting and ability to
do computer programming will be an added advantage.
The successful candidates will be expected to do data entry, data cleaning and generation of statistical summaries.

B. PACE PROJECT- DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL MEDICINE & THERAPEUTICS
1. ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT-AD/5/248/11- 1 POST-(CHS)
Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor of Commerce degree or at least CPA II with at least two (2) years in accounting including
budgeting, budget tracking, and audit preparation experience. They must be computer literate and be proficient in Computerized
Accounting. Those who have University’s accounting procedures and experience in handling US Government funded grants will have
an advantage.
Duties will include maintenance of accounting systems, preparation of budgets and preparation of accounts for audits. He/she will be
expected to monitor bank balances and prepare reconciliations.

C. INSTITUTE OF TROICAL AND INFECTIOUS DISEASES (UNITID)
UON-NIH IEARD PROGRAMMES/ORP)
1. PROGRAMME COORDINATOR-1 POST-AC/5/249/11-(CHS)
Applicants must be holders of a first degree and a Masters degree in any of the following: - Project Management, Epidemiology, Public
Health or Biostatistics. They must have at least one (1) year’s experience in research management or programme implementation
including grants writing and submission. They must be proficient in use of computers and accessing internet resources. They must
have excellent interpersonal; communication, organizational, multitasking and analytical skills.
Reporting to the Programme PI, the successful candidate will be expected to responsible for the following:-
Planning, preparation and facilitation of the programme meetings, workshops an conference calls including report
wring of the same;
Opening, maintain and updating electronic and print filling systems on research grants;
Preparation and updating of the list serve for the PIs, faculty, students and other partners/customers among other
duties.
D. PROGRAMMATIC- STRENGTHENING MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR IMPROVED HEALTH OUTOMES IN KENYA
1. ASSISTANT PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR, (AFYA BORA CONSORTIUM) DEPARTMENT OF OBS &
GYANECOLOGY-AD/5/250/11- 1 POST – (CHS)
Applicants should be holders of a Diploma in Business administration and be computer literate. They must have at least three (3) years
experience in project administration. They must have skills and knowledge in administration, office operations, financial and personnel
management.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain records of personnel, facilities, supplies7 equipment, order supplies and liaise

LECTURER, SCHOOL OF COMPUTING & INFORMATICS- 2 POSTS - (CBPS) – AC/5/230/11-
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Computer Science from a recognized university specializing in any of the following
disciplines:- Computer Architecture, Computer Communication Networks & Distributed Systems, Computing Systems Security,
Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Simulation& Modeling. - . Those who possess a
Masters degree in Computer Science specializing in the areas mentioned above and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at

Applicants must be holders of a Masters degree in Range Management with a bias in Rangeland Livestock Production/ Management
Systems or related fields from a recognized university.
They are must show evidence of having registered for a Ph.D. degree.

Applicants must be holders of a first degree (1st Class honours) in Statistics. They must have registered for a Masters degree and be in
Second Year of Study undertaking Mathematical Statistics. Those who are in possession of a Masters degree in Mathematical
Statistics will have an added advantage.

Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor of Science degree in relevant subject or a Higher National Diploma in Bacteriology and/or
Microbiology or Medical Microbiology or related fields. They must have at least five (5) years experience as a Technologist grade ABC
or its equivalent in vaccine production and /or production of microbial inoculants (Biofertilizers and/ or Biopesticides. They should be
computer literate.
The successful candidate will be in charge of a busy Microbiology Laboratory involved in teaching, research and advisory services.
He/she will also be required to plan, conduct and/or supervise demonstrations or analysis for staff, students, ensure lab equipment and
facilities are regularly calibrated among other duties.
SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST GRADE DEF, DEPARTMENT OF URBAN & REGIONAL PLANNING-AD/5/237/11- (1 POST) - (CAE)
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor of Science degree in relevant subject or a Higher National Diploma in Cartography, Building
and Civil Engineering or Architecture, or Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent professional qualification. They must have at
least five (5) years experience as a Technologist grade ABC or its equivalent .Applicants with expertise in GIS and Remote Sensing will
have an added advantage. They should be computer literate.
The successful candidate will be expected to assist both undergraduate and postgraduate students in studios, workshops, computer
labs and during fieldwork research. He/she will also be expected to carry out routing maintenance of equipment and procure materials
among other duties.
SENIOR TECHNOLOGIST GRADE DEF, DEPARTMENT OF REAL ESTATE & CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT-AD/5/238/11-
(3 POSTS) - (CAE)
Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building
Economics, Architectural Studies or Structural Engineering or a Higher National Diploma in Building & Civil Engineering or
Architectural Studies. In both cases, they must have at least five (5) years experience as a Technologist grade ABC or its equivalent
.They should be computer literate. They must show evidence of working knowledge in a Computer Aided Design Package, Activity
Scheduling Packages or Quantity Surveying Package.
Those who have either worked in a design office or on a site for at least one and a half years will have an added advantage.
The successful candidates will be expected to assist both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their practicals among other
duties.
TECHNOLOGIST GRADE ABC, DEPARTMENT OF REAL ESTATE & CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT-AD/5/239/11- (2
POSTS) - (CAE)
Applicants should be holders of an Ordinary Diploma in Building & Civil Engineering or Architectural Studies from a recognized
institution. They must have at lest three (3) years working experience. They should have a working knowledge in a computer design
package and activity scheduling package. Experience in the computer package for at least one year either in a design office or on site
will be an added advantage. Those who have higher qualifications will have an added advantage.
The successful candidates will be expected to assist both undergraduate and postgraduate students in their practicals among other
duties.
ASSISTANT SECRETARY GRADE A, FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE-AD/5/240/11 - 1 POST - (CAVS)
Applicants should be holders of a KCSE Grade C or KCE III or its equivalent qualification with a Credit in English language. In
addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining
